자연을 담은 사진, 연꽃(Lotus)

 

Lotus is originated from China.

It was said that the lotus came into Korea in the early Chosun Dynasty by Kang. Hee Maeng, a scholar, from Ming Dynasty.

He planted the seed of the lotus in a pond named Gokgokji in Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

So, even now, there are a lot of lotus growing in the Gokgokji, and now it becomes one of tourist attractions in this area.

I can not remember the exact expression of what I read in my childhood, but there is one meaning that I still remember. 

"The kite is upright and flies higher against the wind, and the lotus blossoms beautifully even in the ditch."

We learn a lot from our surroundings. One of them will be mother nature.

 

The lotus seems to have deep relationship with Buddhism. If there is a picture of a flower in a temple, it is probably a lotus flower.

연꽃은 중국이 원산지이다.

 

연꽃이 우리나라에 들어오게 된 것은 조선 초기의 문신인 강희맹이 명나라에서 연꽃을 들여와서 지금의 경기도 시흥시에 있는 관곡지라는 연못에 심은 것으로 부터 시작되었다고 한다.

 

그래서 인지, 지금도 경기도 시흥시에 있는 관곡지에는 엄청나게 많은 연꽃이 재배되고 있고, 이제는 해당 지역의 관광상품으로서 한 몫을 하고 있다.

 

여기 올린 사진들은 모두 관곡지에서 담은 것이다.

 

어릴 적에 읽었던 글귀 중에 이제는 정확한 표현까지는 기억에 남지 않지만, 아직까지 그 의미는 생생한 것이 하나 있는데...

 

"연(하늘을 나는 연)은 맞바람을 맞고 더 높이 오르고, 연꽃은 시궁창에서도 아름다운 꽃을 피운다."는 내용이었다.

 

 

우리는 주변을 통해서 많은 것을 느끼고, 배운다. 그 중에 하나가 바로 자연일 것이다.

 

 

연꽃은 불교와도 인연이 깊은 것 같다. 연등도 그렇고, 사찰에서 꽃을 그린 그림이 있다면 열이면 열... 아마도 연꽃일 것이다.
