우리가 글을 쓰거나 설명을 할 때, 여러 가지 근거와 이유 등을 설명하면서 나중에 결론을 내는 경우가 있는데, 이를 귀납적이라고 하거나 미괄식이라고 한다.

이렇게 앞에 여러 설명을 하고 나서 뒤에서 "결국에는", "종합적으로 보았을 때", 또는 "전체적으로"라는 의미로 쓸 수 있는 영어 표현이 이번 포스트에서 다룰 All in all이다.

All in all은 대개 어떤 상황이나 의견을 요약하거나 결론을 내릴 때 사용된다.

종합적으로 보았을 때, 성공적인 여행이었어.
